This is quite possibly the biggest troll thread we've ever had.

On a more serious note, the scene in Christchurch is a lot like the scene's in both Wellington and Auckland, but with more gash, more crack (oh how we dream of the glory days of the bzp revolution) , and more dreads.

note the third post in reply to mine is still there, musta been his idea of a burn and has left it there so i can learn a lesson and take my licks.

I think they might have actually been saying 'on ya' to me cause I fixed up the options in the poll.

Ahh some good ol' doa style trolling, although tbh the fact that he deleted his posts could mean its real hehe.

Christchurch has a huge dnb scene, biggest in the country by far, but it also has a a fairly big crime problem for the size of the city so it makes for easy piss-taking on teh interwebz.

Auckland has okay scene, second biggest i reckon from my travels, although i can see how noobs would think its a bit up-tight thats just because you dont have a crew innit, get of your arse and make some friends to rave with and you'll have a sweet time.

Dunners and Welly tied for third in terms of size imo. Apparently welly has sweet vibes on the big nights, so I'll take their word for that having only raved there a couple of times.

Once Bath St in Dunedin closes at the end of the year Queenstown will have the sickest dance club in the country - Subculture (Close tie with Fu bar, old fu bar room would have beat it but new one probably close second)

All strictly imo :pointless2:

oh yea and on the sick bar tip as well, "Red Rock" in Wanaka deserves an honourable mention. 128 mini JBL ceiling speakers installed in a square directly above the dance floor, buzzy. Dope lighting as well and good vibes, shame they have to keep half the subs out back cause of the neighbours though.

All I know is that I met an old man in a bar in Auckland once and he told me stories about metal bands touring Europe while I sat on his knee.

True Story.

Lol, i barely scraped the surface, i only told you the first of the PG ones

yah all this bruhaha about chch VS wel Vs Ak is intriging....

heres my version of tings

Chch is sick the 5 times I have been there in the last ten years and gone raving have been epic (I still find it strange how peeps ,like random peeps come up to u and talk, very strange being a surly "1000 yard stare aucklander" But once you get over it its all g.. Double happy is one of the coolest clubs I think I have been too. and then theres the solstice parties ..very cool if you get a chance to play at one or just be in attendance i would suggest going for it. And another kick arse thing bout chch is that its flat so walking home aint no bother and is actually quite cathartic after a big night out.

Then Theres welly... IMO welly is dope in all respects ,its bohemian, its quirky its compact and the scene all be it a lil hard to get down with the massive (initially) is super sick sammys is def a fav of mine along with SFBH.. One of the best things about welly to me is Aro valley and cuba . I love these places and its always a pleasure to b a vistor

AK well. I love it.. The variety the scene the crew the fact that you can find dope beats of what ever genre when ever you need it. Krd-FU-casette-ink-wine cellar-fu is always a fav mission of mine. only problem is that in some circles its all about who you know and what you wear and is a lil superficial at times...but those times ,in the grand scheme of things are miniscule so not even worth bothering about...

Then theres hamilltron . Hamilltron what a crazy magical place it is... theres two dnb crews rocking both doing solid work. All the conjecture about the tron being munterville and shit is no where near as relevant now in 2009 as it was in the late 90s and early 2000s. Hamilton now is a vibing little town with a real commited drum and bass and dubstep scene that loves it and loves it dark and hard. The thing I think I like the most bout the tron is that its easy, its like a giant playground for peeps that dwell in bigger cities. Only problem with the tron imo is the fact that shit shuts at 3am and theres NOTHING to do after that. IMO flow is one of the dopest lil venues I have been too REAL mean d-floor its underground its dark nice layout BANGING soundsystem and real cool as fuck smoking area! Chek it u will not be dissapointed....

yah... But over all

Nz is the shit and fuck all this provincialism bullshit theres no need for it.... go out young dnb/dubstep padwhans and seek the mysteries of the reese in towns outside your comfort zone! It will make for more well rounded headz and that is what the scene et al needs.

Yeah should have mentioned Flow/Catalyst, heard good things about the crew down there and i had an enjoyable night out there back in the day. Seems like it only kicks off once the meat-markets close though lol
