perhaps for these forums you could introduce a mimimum of say 20 or 30 posts before you can make a thread?

getting sick of people from the other side of the world whoring every forum they can come across with their mixes, new tracks or radio shows.

dont get me wrong though - big up to them for them trying to get out there, but what im getting at is that these forums should be for the regular dnbnz users that are actually seeking genuine feedback, not jsut some noob from the uk trying to grow his dnb internet e-peen.

thoughts?

I've been harping on about this for years badteeth

Seriously, look at the Bassdrop model. Works well. Even the 'New Tracks' section is all spam now..

The user base here is pretty small.. I hear what you're saying, but I don't think putting a barrier in front of potential members posting is a great idea...

So after some careful consideration, the "Label Spam" forum is now "Label/Artist Promotions". Also the rule/concept now is that unless you are an active member or a New Zealander, recommending New Tracks/Labels/Artists/Mixes etc will be moved into that thread unless it's a pretty good post which generates interest.

To be fair, some of the label promo stuff is quite well written/informative etc... hopefully with a rename and the new thread will entice people to post in there instead. Calling a thread spam doesn't exactly scream "post here"

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming

What you should do, but can be a bit of extra hassle -

is if labels or whatever start posting stuff in the wrong forums (your general forum/local tracks) whatever,

send them an email/pm asking nicely to not do it again, pointing out that you have moved their post to the appropriate thread and that in the future they can put their stuff there.

And if they do it again, they are just taking the piss and wasting your time, so ban them/delete their account/turn their links into big black cock pics etc

Most label owners run around forums going for whatever looks like the correct area to post and don't notice if someone moves a thread of theirs to what is actually the correct place, so if you let them know and they are a label worth their salt, they will oblige the forum rules.

my 2c.
